International Ph.D. Program

The Ph.D Program is offering an International environment to our students. This international vision is developed in many actions, primarily based on the important international Network that we share with our colleagues and students.

We strongly recognize the importance for a doctorate student to be immerse in an international and multidisciplinary and multicultural environment to grow both scientifically and personally. Spend a period abroad, listening to seminars and discussing research topic, with foreign professors or within a period abroad, is the key for the success in a high level research. It will help overcoming the personal cultural barrier and become a better person.

We summarize hereafter the main networks that have been nurture trough the years. Clearly, the network is vaster than the various agreements that we list hereafter:

  1. First of all the the ICT Board is composed also by foreign professors, coming from prestigious European Universities (as reported in the board list )
  2. Second, the Ph.D program has established various agrements:
    1. Agreement with the Federal University of Technology - Paranà (UTFPR) for a joint double degree title in :
      1. PhD title in Information and communication technologies by UNIMORE in Italy
      2. Doctorate title in Electrical and Computer Engineering (Engenharia Elétrica e Informática Industrial) in Brasil
    2. DUAL AWARD PhD PROGRAMME between UNIMORE (Italy) and the University of Nottingham (the Campuses included in the agreement are located in Nottingham (UK) and in Nigbo (China)). The PHD has a duration of 36 moths, half of which needs to be spent in the foreign University.
    3. PhD DOUBLE DEGREE PROGRAMME AGREEMENT between UNIMORE (Italy) AND the Technische Universität Wien (TU Wien). The double degree PHD has a duration of 36 moths, half of which needs to be spent in the foreign University.
  3. Third, during the years, it has established many International Research agreements and Erasmus mobility agreements, to offer the students the possibility of a fruitful period abroad
  4. Finally, the school is participating to various European project aimed at increasing the international students mobility to increase the number of international students and/or the mobility of students in incoming and outcoming

European Projects related to the ICT Ph.D. Programme

  1. European Project MSC H2020 RISE project Development of High Reliability motor drives for Next generation propulsion Applications (DORNA) . GA number 872001, Research and Innovation Staff Exchange, for the development of high reliability motor drives for next generation propulsion applications. This project scheme fosters a shared culture of research and innovation that welcomes and rewards creativity and entrepreneurship and helps to turn creative ideas into innovative products, services or processes. Mobility among industry and academy is aimed.
